Information on The Number Studio standard range of house plaques

You can select from our range of hand crafted house numbers made from slate alone or from zinc or stone bonded to slate. Or choose a plaque with a printed image framed with zinc and mounted onto slate. The house names are in slate alone, in stone bonded to slate or slate mounted onto a tinted oak base.

Materials for The Number Studio house names & house numbers

Zinc
We use quartz zinc for our house plaques which is treated in the mass to give it an attractive permanent matt finish. It will weather gently over time. Lettering is in water based paint for zinc over an oil based zinc primer.

Slate
For all our plaques we choose top grade slate from Italy or South America in a choice of classic black, dark grey or muted purple. The lettering is in oil based paint over an oil based primer.

Stone
We use beautiful white sandstone of the highest quality for our house numbers and house names. After applying the lettering the stone is finished with a waterproofing sealant for extra resistance. The lettering is in oil based paint over an oil based primer.

Oak
For these plaques we tint the oak with a dark taupe to reveal the natural grain. It is then sealed with 2 coats of top quality, long life, pale grey wood sealer.

Printed images
Our discreet flower images are printed on a flat-bed inkjet printer onto high quality exterior grade vinyl which needs no protective coating. We use this long life material for many of our professional signs. It is equally hard wearing for house plaques. These images are subsequently mounted onto zinc.

All plaques
All our different plaques are permanently bonded together with an all weather long life adhesive.
